We are seeking an Occupational Health Nurse for our Wilton, IA location.

Relocation assistance is provided

Basic Functions:

• Will provide immediate emergen! cy care for traumatic and non-traumatic injured workers and co! ntractors including coordinating, directing & setting up for or transporting offsite medical treatment for the injured workers as required.
• Coordinate and assist the Safety Administrator in case management for all Workers' Compensation Claims.
• Work with the Safety Manager & Safety Specialist to develop preventative measures to reduce work place injuries.
• Conduct respirator fit tests, hearing tests, PFT tests, crane physicals, and vision tests.
• Maintain, sustain, and ensure compliance with OSHA, Iowa Workforce , Wilton Mill, and Gerdau Corporate Safety guidelines and standards.
• Standardize/develop Iowa's nursing, injury response, and Wilton Workforce compensation practices and policies.
• Coordinate specialized occupational safety & health training & emergency drills for the Wilton Mill.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct or oversee Case Management of all Gerdau Wilton Workers Compensation claims.

• Manage incident informational data via internal systems, conducting accident investigations
• Works with physicians to evaluate the health of employees
• Prepares accident reports for compensation & other purposes.
• Ensures compliance with select OSHA safety standards as designated by skills, experience, & Safety Manager.

Required Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing (RN), combined with 3-5 yrs of Clinical Nursing experience.
• Occupational health & safety experience and OSHA training preferred.
• Prior experience with Iowa Workforce compensation case management and claims management recommended.
• Must be licensed in the state of Iowa.
• Requires the ability to analyze and make sound judgments to accurately document and maintain appropriate confidentiality of medical records.
• Knowledge of state & federal laws related to Workers Compensation & legislation.
• Responsibl! e for implementing & evaluating strategies to facilitate maximum medica! l improvement for employees to return to work when possible, establishing a case specific target return.
• Requires solid organizational skills, excellent follow through & time management skills.
