Prevents illness and injury. Alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment. Advoca! tes for patients and their families. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.
- Utilizes critical thinking and evidence-based practice in providing emergency care for patients of all ages. (infant through geriatric).
- Prepares patients and equipment for examination and treatment by physicians in a timely manner.
- Practices ethically.
- Demonstrates competency and performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and other specialty tasks as assigned.
- Delegates care appropriately to different levels of providers in the emergency department i.e. paramedic, PCT.
- Organizes individual patient care to enhance efficiency and patient throughput.
- Performs triage, charge nurse, and emergency response duties when assigned
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse and authorized by the State of Iowa to practice nursing.
