Qualifications: Registered Nurse with current nursing license in the State of Iowa. Must have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing. Previous experience in assisted living community nursing management, working with people who have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and/or dementia , or experience in a long term care setting preferred.

Job purpose: Responsible for assessing residents and establishing service plans on a regular basis. Provide instruction and delegation to staff to implement service plans. Provide continuity in and coordination of resident care. Assess and evaluate emergency situations.
Role model constructive relationships with residents, families, and staff to create an environment that is supportive to optimal resident function, motivating for staff satisfaction and creativity, and that encourages family and staff partnerships for care of residents.
Maintain good public relation with physicians and other providers. Make referrals as appropriate.
Demonstrates effective supervisory skills by recruiting, hiring, orienting, scheduling, teaching, supervising, and evaluating nursing staff.
Coordinate a 24/7 on-call system for weekend coverage.
Promote a positive public image of The Views through effective marketing efforts and participation in community affairs.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements: This position requires standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and moderate lifting and carrying activities throughout the day. Must have good vision, good hearing, and verbal communication skills to communicate with residents, family members, employees and professionals. Must have good judgment and problem solving skills. Must be able to deal with stressful situations and handle confidential matters. Must have a valid driver’s license.
