Position description
Mayo Clinic Health System is seeking two orthopedic surgeons to join our practice at Winneshiek Medical Center (WMC) in Decorah, Iowa. The orthopedic surgeon will be responsible for providing clinic-based orthopedic consultations and surgical procedures at WMC, primarily in joint replacements, sports medicine/arthroscopic surgery, and some trauma. The patient population may involve some pediatrics, but the majority of patients will be age 16 and up.

Join a team of two Orthopedic Surgeons, 1 Podiatrist, and an ortho/surgical PA upon completion of recruitment.
Close collaboration with WMC's robust occupational health program facilitated by a well-trained nurse practitioner.
Potential outreach to surrounding communities within a 25 mile radius.
WMC has a collaborative relationship with Luther College in Decorah. A physician and an ARNP provide services one day per week in the student health center at Luther College and the WMC Rehab and Sports Medicine Department provide athletic training services to Luther College during the school year.
In addition to Luther College, the Rehab and Sports Medicine Department provides athletic training services to six high schools in Northeast Iowa. The Rehab and Sports Medicine Department is the largest provider in the region with a staff of 42 in the department. Staffing in the Rehab Department consists of 3 certified hand therapists, 2 PTs with orthopedic clinical specialty certification, 1 PT with Sports Clinical Specialty certification, Lymphadema certified therapists, and several therapists certified in Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization techniques.
