Wesley Acres has an exciting opportunity for an experienced RN to provide oversight and supervision of nursing staff for our rapidly expand! ing, newly remodeled, short term, post-acute Transitional Recovery Unit (T.R.U.). Supervises and coordinates the household teams to ensure the delivery of the best quality health care for the residents living in the Health Center. Assists with staffing and scheduling of the households. Participates in recruitment, hiring, orientation and training.

Specific Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and serves as a resource in the provision of resident care and unit activities.

Assists in orienting, training, and providing ongoing training and supervision for team members. Ensures orientation conducted for each employee. Completes performance evaluations and recommends actions on employee complaints, resolution, terminations, etc. Assists in monitoring employee progress and provides feedback to Health Center leadership as necessary.

Assist in the evaluation of the health care services needed for each resident relative to the level of lifestyl! e accommodations. Communicates and counsels with residents and! family members regarding potential problems, needs, and care plans as appropriate.

Participate in facility surveys, inspections, etc. made by authorized government agencies.

Assures there is a safe environment for both residents and team members. Reports and investigates any incidents of exposure or accidents or injuries as prescribed by all the regulatory agencies governing resident care and employee safety.

Participates in on-going Quality Assurance programming, and conducts audits as requested.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing plus have a minimum of two-three years experience in a care facility. Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa.

Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care! .

Supervisory and leadership skills to develop/supervise staff in a team environment.

Ability to make independent decisions and handle emergency situations with professionalism and efficiency.

Must be able to function effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Interpersonal and communication skills required. Must be able to use tact, diplomacy and cooperation in all relationships.

Must have good computer skills with experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Must have ability to read, write and speak fluent English, and relate well to all levels of contacts
