GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care during transport of patients and guided by protocols or direct medical contr! ol. Patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ÷ Assess patients with medical or traumatic medical conditions with findings reflected in the patient record. ÷ Triages and prioritizes patient needs, developing a plan of care, anticipating patient needs, preparing equipment and supplies.
÷ Implements interventions consistent with protocols documenting response to treatment. ÷ Provides ongoing evaluation altering the plan of care as indicated, documenting findings and interventions. ÷ Checks medical equipment and supplies on a daily basis, restocking and cleaning the rig after each transport ÷ Operate required vehicle(s) in a safe manner to perform required duties of the position. QualificationsMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: ÷ Current certification as a Critical Care Paramedic in the State of Iowa required.
÷Minimum of one year clinical or field experience ! required functioning as an EMT-B, EMT-I, or Paramedic. ÷Bas! ic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. ÷ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. ÷Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
÷ PALS or PEPP and PHTLS Provider training required within 6 months of hire ÷ Valid DriverâÂÂs/Chauffeurs License required, must meet MercyâÂÂs Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law.
