Position Description
McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for LPN/RN for its West Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
Responsibilities include: general out patient clinic duties, greets patients and prepares them for physician/provider visit, including taking vital signs and updating medication record. Utilizes professional nursing theory and skills during interviewing , observation and nursing procedures and patient/family assessment to identify problems. Prepares patients for examination and/or procedure. Communicates patient information to physician and collaborates in the plan of care with the physician and other members of the health care team. Prepares equipment and assists physician during examination, and assists the physician in Mohs surgery with excision of skin cancers and other dermatology surgeries and care. Will anesthetize with local anesthesia, cauterize, retract, blot, drape patient. Scribes information for the physician and described by physician.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Certification/License
- Possession of a State Practical Nurse license.
- Possession of a State Registered Nurse license.
- Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
Days: Monday - Friday - Part-time with possible full-time hours.
Hours: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Experience
- Previous ambulatory care experience in Dermatology and or Mohs a plus, but not required.
