BACKGROUND INFORMATION The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) supports Telehealth as a strategy to increase Veteran access to primary and specialty care. Cost/benefit analysis reveals Telehealth may improve clinic wait times, reduce excessive travel hardships, beneficiary travel payments and fee basis services to non-VA providers. Increased access to care will ideally result in better management of symptoms and decrease adverse outcomes associated with unmanaged conditions.
The Iowa City Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care System has a requirement to expand patient (Veteran) care throughout Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois through innovative telecommunication technologies to enhance care coordination, access to care, and to routinely and proactively manage diseases to prevent healthcare crises. These programs may include, but are not limited to, Video Conferencing, Learning Management System, MyHealtheVet, Home Tele-health , Clinical Video Tele-health and Store and Forward Tele-health technologies. JOB DESCRIPTIONMaxim Government Services is seeking LPNs (full time or part time) to serve in a generalist role to support and manage telehealth clinical encounters from the patient and healthcare provider location as the site Telepresenter, imager for telehealth store and forward applications, manage telehealth events, including patient education activities, provision of equipment of the Home Telehealth (HT) program, technical activities and additionally collects, process, and ships blood, urine, or other specimens from Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) / Outreach Clinic patients for a wide variety of healthcare provider requested laboratory tests, and other program support duties, as assigned. WORK HOURS: i.
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM this are the normal hours Community Based Outpatient / Outreach Clinics (CBOC) schedule patients for labs. ii. Off-Duty hours: Monday through Friday, core off-duty hours are 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM and normal off-duty hours are 4:30 PM â€" 8:00 AM. iii.
Work will not be required on paid National Holidays: The 10 holidays observed by the Federal Government are: New Year’s Day; Martin Luther King’s Birthday; Presidents’ Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veterans Day; Thanksgiving; Christmas, AND any other day specifically declared by the President of the United States to be a national holiday.
