The Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System (ICVAHCS) is recruiting for one full-ti! me Staff Nurse that will be in Rheumatology/Allergy.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
U.S. Citizenship
Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Must pass pre-employment examination.
Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.
Background and/or Security Investigation required.

DUTIES:
The Registered Nurse will support the mission, vision and objectives of the ICVAHCS through the following activities:
administers immunotherapy injections and manage shot clinics
coordinates lab monitoring and scheduling
works closely with infusion clinic for managing rheumatology infusions
facilitates interdisciplinary communication related to patient care and administrative issues
guides and supports nursing staff in the use of the nursing process, providing/delegating patient care, addressing safety issues, and adhering to standards of care, pol! icies, and procedures
role models quality nursing practice to staff
provides exceptional individual patient education to patients and families
manages time and workload efficiently, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and will prioritize as needed to ensure commitment regarding completion
The incumbent will e
xecute position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care. Will also be available and assist with patient care and flow covering multiple pagers for vacation coverage.
Incumbent will be a consultant in rheumatology/allergy clinical practice. Must have advanced clinical knowledge in the application of the rheumatology/allergy patient care.
A minimum of 2 years RN Nursing experience and experience in Rheumatology/Allergy is preferred.
Work Schedule: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Citizen of the United States.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing.
Proficient in spoken and written English.
Advanced clinical knowledge in the application of the neurological patient is preferred.
Length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected.
