Collaborates with the health care team using evidence based practice, demonstrating accountability, respect for patients, families and coworkers, while pr! oviding safe and optimal patient outcomes. Promotes continuity of care by communicating effectively with interdisciplinary team and family as appropriate. Directs the work of the support staff in the provision of care. Performs general nursing duties using critical thinking skills with minimal supervision. Able to work with the age specific populations according to the setting.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
v Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
v Current registration and licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN. Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
v Continuing education as required to maintain licensure.
v Completion of coronary care course. Maintenance of BCLS, PALS and ACLS verification.
v Dependent adult abuse training. Mandatory reporter training for child abuse.
v Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
v Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
v High! degree of empathetic listening skills, tact and kindness towa! rd others.
v Ability to communicate well verbally. Must work effectively as a member of a team.
v Basic computer knowledge
v Technical and critical thinking skills in relation to sound nursing judgment.
v Knowledge of nursing practices as they relate to the care of the elderly.
