The V! ISN 6 Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Centers (MIRECC) is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner for the Office of Patient Care Services (PCS), Mental Health Services (MHS) in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The position reports directly to the VISN 6 MIRECC Director in Durham, NC with matrixed supervision by the National Mental Health Director for Psychotherapy and Psychogeriatric in MHS. The position will be decentralized with physical location to be determined.
This position may be
filled by either a Nurse Practitioner, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist.

DUTIES:

THIS IS A VIRTUAL POSITION. The duty location
of this position will be determined once a candidate is selected.Â" Salary will be determine for that geographical location as well.
The
Training Program Coordinator's primary functions are to implement, manage,
monitor, and evaluate the VA Behavioral Couples Therapy and Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy
Substance Use Disorders (BCT and CBT-SUD) Training Programs. This
includes collaboration with program evaluators, program administrators, other MHS staff,
VISN
mental health leadership, and field-based staff.
The
Training Program Coordinator is responsible for managing programmatic aspects
of these competency-based s! taff training programs, which involve in-person
workshop training, ! followed by ongoing expert consultation. The Training
Program Coordinator helps to identify and coordinate teams of trainers and training
consultants in addition to overseeing the development of the therapist manuals,
multi-modal training materials, documentation templates, and outcome measures
for each training program.
Responsibilities
also include coordinating the various aspects of implementing the BCT and
CBT-SUD programs, policies, and procedures, and contributing to a system of
monitoring of outcomes using data-driven, quality assurance processes to
evaluate programs that deliver specialized, complex, highly professional service.
The Training Program Coordinator is broadly acquainted with other evidence
based psychotherapies and clinical treatment modalities, clinical support
systems and implementation sciences, and is knowledgeable about multifaceted
health care delivery systems and their relationship to exter! nal review
organizations as well as hospital and service level operations. The Training
Program Coordinator is also familiar with current research literature on BCT
and CBT-SUD.
The ability to deliver BCT or CBT-SUD is desired, but not
required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. Citizenship, Birth or Naturalized (appropriate documentation required)
At least two years of successful experience as a NP and has successfully undertaken difficult or complex clinical, administrative, research and/or educational assignments which have required an unusual degree of leadership and competence.
MasterÂ's degree from an NLN or CCNE accredited Nurse Practitioner program -National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
Current, full, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse
State Approval to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
National Certification as a Nurse Practition! er
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of five (5) ! years successful nursing practice -One year successful progressive leadership nursing experience -Minimum of at least two (2) years of successful management experience
Experience with program management with documented outcomes
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with members of an interdisciplinary team
Demonstrated history of collaborative relationships with physicians, other support services and leadership
Ability to work independently -Knowledge of JCAHO standards
Prior experience working with Veteran patients in Community or Hospital setting
Demonstrated evidence of leadership potential with an emphasis on skills in interpersonal relationships, program development, critical thinking, and problem solving
Documented evidence of successful professional practice with progressively complex positions/assignments
Demonstrated ability to use computer systems in support of patient care delivery
Demonstrated excellence in written/verbal communication, time management and working with an interdisciplinary team
Prior VA experience
Grade and
