Responsible for triaging incoming calls from clients, assessing needs, giving appropriate clinical options and facilitating referral to primary providers, specialists, healthcare facilities and community resources. Educates the caller when appropriate regarding immediate care advice and preventative behaviors in accordance with Mary Greeley Medical Center’s customer service standards.

  • Refers inquiries to appropriate primary providers, specialists, healthcare facilities and community resources.
  • Using the computer, documents all inquires for medicolegal/statistical purposes.
  • Schedules call-backs to determine compliance with recommendations.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Exemplifies excellent service, compassion and respect to patients, visitors, business associates physicians/providers and co-workers.
  • Utilizes knowledge of management and nursing organizational theory to function as Consulting Nurse.
  • Utilizes knowledge of Mary Greeley Medical Center policies, procedures, and systems.!
  • Gathers and analyzes data.
  • Applies and modifies the ! principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing.
Regional Relationships

  • Supports implementation of best practices to enhance medical staff relationships.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse and authorized by the State of Iowa to practice nursing.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Achievement of Baccalaureate degree in nursing within 10 years of hire if hired after January 1, 2012.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • Professional certification in nursing specialty.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Three (3) or more years clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care service.
  • Proficient in communication skills.
  • Ability to pursue and foster a sense of team and! partnership across all disciplines.
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situation.
